Barbara Hepworth
Genesis III, 1966
Reproduction giclée print on textured watercolour paper

Genesis III connects the abstract forms with the biblical story of the creation of the world. Two simple shapes are placed in careful relation to one another, appearing to move through a universe like planets hanging in space. Following the first unmanned and manned moon landings in 1959 and 1969, Hepworth became interested in space exploration.
