Named "the perfect beer for wine drinkers" by, this newest release in the Eternal Return series of beer-wine hybrids features strawberries from Samascott Farms in the Hudson Valley Region of New York (Kinderhook). Fermentation with strawberries is no simple feat, as the fruit's flavor and texture morph widely during the process, but we've managed to wrangle it into a beer that delivers a satisfying burst of fresh strawberry goodness.

All Eternal Returns are long-aged beers that involve aging in wine barrels with our house culture before re-fermenting on whole local fruit. We never use fruit puree in these beers, as we believe the complexity of fruit character can't be replicated. The intent behind these beers is to take the very best organic fruit our region has to offer and let the fruit of that farm's labors co-mingle with our house culture into something completely unique.

Eternal Return Strawberry was brewed in October 2019, aged in wine barrels for nine months, then transferred onto whole strawberries for three months before six months of bottle conditioning to develop natural carbonation (16 months total from brew to release). We never rush these beers, to allow time to do its thing, letting the fruit essences emerge and the beers blossom into their full potential. Luscious strawberry with slight funk and properly tart, this beer's a keeper.

We recommend trying it alongside a Saison Ale brewed reusing the same strawberries used in Eternal Return.
